We’re a vet-led dog sports and enrichment center offering dock diving, swim lessons, agility training, and conditioning activities designed for dogs of all ages and abilities. Every program we run is rooted in one mission: to give dogs a safe, fun place to play, grow, and wag their tail alongside the humans who love them. Whether your pup is here to gain confidence in the water, level up their agility skills, or simply enjoy a new kind of adventure, WestRover is where healthy living meets fun in Westover, Alabama.
● Meet Our Team
Jennifer & Dr. Jay Crisman
Dr. Jay brings more than 25 years of veterinary experience (and a whole lot of passion!) to WestRover’s mission. After graduating from Auburn University and completing a two-year internship in Las Vegas, he spent nearly a decade serving as Medical Director at Double Oak Mountain Animal Hospital. His journey then took him nationwide as a Professional Services Veterinarian with Pfizer Animal Health/Zoetis, where he trained alongside and supported veterinarians across the U.S.
In 2013, he returned to his roots and purchased 280 Animal Medical Center, where his interests in surgery, orthopedics, and advanced soft-tissue procedures have shaped an award-winning, hospitality-centered practice. Outside the clinic, Dr. Jay is deeply involved in the Westover community — serving on the City Council, chairing the Westover Business Alliance, and sitting on the JCVMA Executive Board.
At home, he and Jennifer share life with their four American Eskimo dogs (Kai, Kailani, Keko, and Laci), their cat Cookie, and a growing crew of grandkids.
Jennifer brings years of hands-on experience from the world of dog shows and agility competitions, making her a guiding force for dogs learning to focus, move with confidence, and have fun doing it. She fell in love with dock diving after watching her first NADD event, and quickly became an advocate for the sport’s benefits of strength training to give dogs the “job” they crave. Currently, Jennifer has four grand champs under her belt.
Her passion runs especially deep for dogs with disabilities or mobility challenges. Inspired by her American Eskimo, Kai, Jennifer believes every dog deserves a safe, supportive space to grow stronger, build trust, and rediscover what their bodies can do. WestRover is her way of bringing that belief to life— for every pup who walks onto the dock or steps onto the agility field.
